Waterproof case care: the seal check we do before every swim
An IP68 case keeps water out only when every seal is closed. The good news: checking takes two minutes, and it is the same routine we use in our own testing.
This guide covers our waterproof cases for iPhone 18 Pro Max, 18 Pro, 17 Pro and 15, and Pixel 10, 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL.

Test the case empty
Close the empty case, sink it in a basin with a coin inside for weight for ten minutes, then open it and check for drops.
Fit the phone on a dry surface
Take off any old screen protector, set the phone into the back half, then press the front frame on all the way around until each clip clicks.
Close the port and plugs
Push the charging-port flap in until you hear the click. Run a finger around the edge: it should feel flush everywhere.
Rinse after salt and chlorine
Salt and chlorine dry out seals. Rinse the closed case under a tap, then dry it before opening.
Re-enroll your fingerprint
The built-in screen protector changes how the sensor reads your finger. Add your fingerprint again after fitting.
